Imaginary Authors, Day 3: Memoirs of a Trespasser
I really love this stuff.
Really really.
So far, I’ve been impressed overall by the offerings from Josh Meyer–but this one is, as far as I’m concerned, is the One To Rule the Line (although The Cobra & The Canary is a close second; love those masculines!). Creamy vanilla, robust oak casks, exotic spice caravans; I envision the gentleman explorer in his study, planning the next adventure, savoring memories of past trips over a glass of cognac, fingers dancing over the humidor to select a hand-rolled cigar to enjoy while curiously perusing outspread maps.
I want to go to there.
My sample was generously provided by the perfumer.

oh, I think I want to go there too~ Wonderful post.
It’s a charming fragrance!
Hi Dee! It sounds interesting. I’ve read about this brand earlier at SmellyThoughts and I got intrigued. Will definitely sample the line when I get the chance.
Lucasai, I still haven’t ventured out to read what other people are saying about the line (will do when I’m done reviewing them all–almost there!), but the overall feeling I get is that they’ve been well-liked. Which doesn’t surprise me at all. They are pretty damned good!!
Which makes me even more confident to try the line as soon as I get the chance.
This is my absolute favorite of the samples I tried. Lovely review!
Taffy, I introduced the line to a girlfriend of mine last night, and she too picked this as her top favorite! (directly followed by Violet Disguise…)
I want to go there too…I’m very intrigued by this line, thanks to your reviews!
And still more to come…
There’ll be an interview with Josh coming very soon, and I’m so looking forward to it!
I am intrigued too. My ears always prick up at the mention of “creamy vanilla”!
Creamy vanilla does it for me too, especially when it’s balanced with something stronger–like the way Havana Vanille (Vanille Absoloument) used pipe tobacco, or Mona di Orio did with the booze and oak in Vanille… here it’s balanced with spices, making a perfect vanilla trio in my collection, haha! Though, I only have a full bottle of HV (hear that, perfume fairies??)
You had me at exotic spice caravans. I’m off to order the sampler set.
Dionne! if you can wait another week, I’ll send you mine, along with some other things we’ve been talking about
