New Release: Sonoma Scent Studio Fig Tree

Perfumer’s Comments:
“Many fig scents have strong coconut notes from the creamy lactones that are often used in fig accords. In Fig Tree, I chose to minimize the coconut rather than to accentuate it. I envisioned a perfume that would evoke the various aspects of a fig tree in summer, with green, fruity, creamy, and woodsy notes.”

$17.50-$65.00 at Sonoma Scent Studio.

  1. I wonder if this one will suit you dee? I recall you were looking for a non-jammy sort of fig scent. Hard to say from that description whether Fig Tree will be jammy – sounds like maybe not? Maybe it will be n the woodier side, seeing as Laurie does woody notes so well.

    1. Oh, I *want* jammy! It’s the ripe fig smell that I love so much (like in the Estee Lauder lipsticks), so I’m really hoping that there’s a fleshy element in those woods 🙂

Woodier would be okay too— it’s the milky/coconut aspect that I don’t so much care for in fig scents. I hope to soon find out! I still need to sample To Dream, and will place a sample order soon…

How’s the vacation going, by the way????

      1. Sorry, got the reverse idea. Fig Tree sounds worth a try then.

Vacation is going great! I have been cleaning the house, sewing Girl Guide badges on to my daughter’s GG sash, devising means of keeping snails away from my seedlings, and wearing six perfumes a day. Weather is perfect. But I nearly did not get a parking spot at the National Library just then because the Queen – as in Elizabeth II – is visiting Canberra. Humph.

        1. Snails: if you burry a few cans of beer around the bed (just up to the lip of the open can, or cup, or bottle) it will attract and drown slugs or snails! I had a slug problem two years ago, and learned this 🙂

Six perfumes a day! Wowzers! I hope you are taking notes… 😉

Oh, that darned Queen, clogging up the traffic. LOL! I’d be out on the street with my chair waiting for a peek, clogging up the traffic with the rest of them, hah!

  2. A fig without that coconut milk note would be amazing! I have yet to meet a fig fragrance I like because of the coconut.
I love SSS, so I must get a sample soon.

  3. I love the smell of jammy ripe figs too or the rich dried figs- so I am looking forward to this. The coconut notes are less appealing, so we’ll see. I am tempted to order some of Lauries’s shea butters /lotions. The shea butter in velvet rose sounds deeevine!!

  4. Hmm, I don’t much like figs. But I did smell a Parfums de Nicolai called “Fig Tea” that smelled amazing and had no coconut, so perhaps I will like this as well! SSS has a great reputation.
