I originally connected with Birgit (Olfactoria of Olfactoria’s Travels) by way of consolation prize: I entered—and lost—a draw for some Andy Tauer samples on her blog, which I had only just discovered, and she took pity on me and sent me samples anyway! Since that “introduction”, I feel like I’ve gained a true friend—distance be damned! And, as it turns out, a friend with benefits: Today a wonderfully fragrant package arrived in the mail from Birgit, chock-full of treasures*. I certainly haven’t earned this kind of generosity, but I’m not complaining! 🙂
I’ll be blogging about each of these beautiful fragrances in the days to come—and really looking forward to it!
*A quick note on B’s psychic awesomeness: I just drained my tiny decant of Bois des Iles this morning, and this afternoon the mini you see pictured above arrived. I did not know that these were coming!
Lucky you! Just got a small truckload from Olympic Orchids myself…and I can’t wait to write about them! 😀
Isn’t that the best part of blogging, though – to make friends all over the world? At least, I think it is! 😉
It is! It’s so exciting to share my passion with people who are equally crazy (um, I mean passionate), about perfume. I mean, the hubby makes an effort, and is learning, but he’ll never be a dyed in the wool ‘fumie like us 🙂
This is an accepting and generous community, and I am very happy to belong to it. I don’t even mind the weird looks I get at work when I talk about my new friend in Denmark, or Austria, or Australia, or Croatia…
Oh, I can’t wait to read about them! Hopefully I won’t have to wait too long… you don’t need to work, or sleep, or conduct any other time-wasting activities this weekend, I hope? 😉
Nope – I’ll just farm out the boy to his father, bribe the cats with tuna, program the house robot for shopping, laundry and floor cleaning, and load up the iPod with vintage Ramones and Misfits – and I’ll be set! 😉
Shhhh! Don’t tell my proofreaders! 😀
Hooray! 🙂
Hey, I am glad the package reached you safe and sound. I wanted you to have some Bois des Iles to tide you over until your full bottle comes. 🙂
Have a great day! xoxo
You really are wonderful 🙂
Oh, you also got a little bottle of Chanel 18! My favourite. 🙂
Haha, I know! And Carol just reviewed it, what—two days ago? And for the first time, I REALLY wanted to try it (she’s a little bit of an evil-scent-twin).
I feel like a fat cat.
